Reduce Over Heating of Laptop By Modifying Power Options



Heating can cause drastic decrease in efficiency of your laptop and even cause permanent damage to hardware. In the previous article I discussed simple ways that can reduce heating in your laptop but all of them were either related hardware or placing your laptop the right way. Buying cooling pad for your laptop may prove to be beneficent but this article suggests a fix that is easy for windows that can be done by just altering few battery settings. This tip is really useful for gamers and people who are unable to return their laptop due to warranty issues.

The maximum processor state is decreased a few notch which results in temperature drop of almost 15 degrees. There is negligible decrease in the performance of the processor. This fix also saves the battery.

Now how to do it.  Just follow these easy steps


 1- Go to Control panel>Power settings or right click on the battery icon present at the task bar on desktop. Choose Power Options From there.

 2-Click on Change plan settings. You can change plan settings for both balanced and power saver mode.


 3-Click on change advanced power settings.

 
4-Click on processor Power management>Maximum processor state. You will see a dialog box. Change the default values from 100% to 85% for On Battery and 95% for Plugged In.
