Blocking a Website In Windows For All Browsers

Blocking certain websites may become important sometimes if you have kids or you  want people to avoid access to some websites through your computer. The method I am going to tell you in this article is simple and doesn’t require any software for you to download. It blocks the website on windows operating system regardless of the browser. Just follow these easy steps to achieve your purpose.  

1-Right click on the notepad and Run it as administrator.
But for doing this you must be the administrator. The windows will ask you to provide permission. Click on yes. Notepad will open.

2-Click on File>Open. You will see a box in front of you. Copy and paste this address in the search bar in the box. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc Change the file format to All Files from Text Files.

3-Click on the hosts file and open it.

4-Place the cursor at the end of the last line that will say something as #127.0.0.1       localhost or # ::1 localhost . Press Enter and create a new line.

5- Now write 127.0.0.1, give space and write the address the website you want to block. If you want to block another site press enter, create a newline and write 127.0.0.1 and the address of second the website. Save the file. 

6-Open any browser and type the address of the website you have just blocked. You will see the website will not open.
